Typically reporting to a Director, the Administrative Assistant I provides a wide variety of administrative and technical clerical duties for an assigned administrator; assigned tasks may include assisting with budget(s), preparing reports, and special projects. This position will schedule and arrange meetings, conferences, workshops, and events, as well as maintain appointment and activity schedules and calendars for an assigned administrator, including coordinating travel arrangements, hotel reservations, travel authorizations, and expense reports.</p> <p><span>To deliver on the promise of educational equity for all students, the San Diego County Board of Education</span><span>&nbsp;is committed to providing educational opportunities and support to district and school leaders, teachers and other stakeholders so that all students, including our historically underserved students, are served well and are successful.</span></p> <p>This position is full-time and will offer the classified support benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and participation in the CalPERS state retirement system.</p>

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • Graduation from high school; and,
  • Two years of administrative assistant or secretarial support experience.

Coursework in advanced secretarial, communications, business or a related field is desirable. 
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
