Under the direct supervision of Executive Director II of Learning Support Services (LSS), the elementary school principal serves as the educational leader and chief executive of the school, to be responsible for the direction of all instructional programs and District initiatives, operation of the school plan, participation in staff and student activities, and community leadership. In addition, the Principal will be responsible for the oversight of the District Connect Academy and Digital Learning programs housed at Park Village Elementary School. They will ensure the quality of K-8 online and blended instruction by implementing and maintaining the integration of online tools, leading, inspiring, guiding and directing the Connect Academy students and staff. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: Leadership; decision making; problem solving; organization and planning; goal setting; team building; commitment to task; excellent communication. Candidates must have knowledge of curriculum/instruction design for online learning programs; experience with emerging technologies for online learning and virtual learning programs; knowledge of instructional technology tools and their applications to online classrooms and virtual learning programs; and must be committed to equity and excellence, maintaining rigorous academic expectations, and encouraging personal integrity in a safe and supportive virtual environment. Knowledge of: Principles, strategies, and trends of public education spanning TK-8 curriculum. Procedures and methods required to build a secondary master schedule. Effective employee evaluation techniques. Human relations, conflict resolution, and team building approaches. EXPERIENCE: At least five (5) years of successful teaching experience and three (3) or more years of administrative experience. EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS: A master’s degree and a California administrative credential.
