We have an exciting opportunity for a MakerSpace Specialist position located at our campus in San Jacinto, CA. Under the general direction of the Director of Career and Workforce Programs, the MakerSpace Specialist coordinates and maintains the day-to-day operations of the District’s MakerSpace; operates equipment, completes administrative tasks; guides students and visitors through tutorial and technical tasks involving available equipment; is a resource for service, maintenance, and support of technologies; delivers brief trainings and orientations on the use of equipment; in addition to machine programming and operations.

Minimum Qualifications 1) Associate Degree (attach transcript); AND 2) One (1) year experience with light-duty manufacturing equipment used for prototyping such as 3D printers, vinyl cutters, laser cutters, and circuit breadboards. 3) Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, and photograph*** Substitutions: Substitution for meeting the minimum qualifications for the college level education requirement are allowed as follows: -Sixty (60) semester units of college level study and three (3) classes (9 semester units minimum) in the discipline OR -One (1) year of directly related experience in the classification of typical activities OR Credit instructional programs AND -Two (2) years of directly related experience in the classification of typical activities may be substituted for up to thirty (30) semester units OR -Career Education Instructional programs/disciplines AND -Three (3) years of directly related experience may be substituted for up to sixty (60) semester units Desired Qualifications -Knowledge of computer programming and/or computer assisted design -Completion of 6 or more semester units of college level math with a C or better. -Knowledge of rules and regulations related to OSHA compliance of bio-hazardous waste materials -Three (3) years of experience providing technological/industrial support services in a manufacturing or educational setting.
