Substitute Teacher Information • All Resident Subs will earn $250 per day • Day to Day Substitute Teachers will earn $200 per day o After 15 consecutive days for the same teacher, the rate of pay will increase from $200 to $250 per day • All fully credentialed substitute teachers will earn $250 per day Application Procedure: • All applications must be submitted by EdJoin. • Completed applications will be screened for minimum qualifications. Successful applicants will be contacted to set up an interview time. Requirements: Please include with your employment application the following materials; • Copy of your valid teaching credential or 30-Day Substitute Permit (if applicable) • Copies of your transcripts posting your Bachelor’s degree or 90 semester units and current enrollment to complete your bachelor's degree (official transcripts will be requested at time of hire). • Basic Skills Requirement (BSR) met through one of the following (if applicable): o Copy of your passing CBEST card o BSR met through coursework o BSR met by coursework and exam o Pass the CSET: Multiple Subjects plus Writing Skills Examination o Pass the CSU Early Assessment Program or the CSU Placement Examinations o Achieve qualifying Score on the SAT or ACT o College Board Advanced (AP) Examinations o Pass a Basic Skills Examination from Another State • BSR Waivers are available if requirements are not met and Bachelors Degree has been completed • Cover letter/letter of interest • Two letters of recommendation Upon successful completion of the interview, applicants will be given a conditional offer of employment to begin employment paperwork to include TB clearance and criminal background check. If successful and the applicant does not currently hold a valid credential or substitute permit, we will assist you with the process of applying for the required document.
