Full Job Description Crete Academy is hiring a Teaching Assistant for our 2023/2024 school year! Do you enjoy assisting teachers in the classroom and after-school? This is the perfect teaching assisting job for you! Required availability: Full-time, Monday-Friday 9am-530pm. Pay: $20-$25 hour DOE Duties: Assist teachers with creating and preparing lesson plans. Assist teachers with preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment. Assist teachers with grading assignments and informing parents of their children’s progress Revise lesson material with students individually or in small groups. Oversee students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch, recess, and on-field trips. Collaborate with teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions. Comply with state, school, and class rules and regulations. Attend all training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings. Teach and prepare lessons and assignments in the classrooms as needed. Provide small group and whole group instruction, aligned to the Common Core State Standards. Support students with reading and math intervention. Assist Teachers with other classroom related duties that are assigned. Job requirements: Should live in the LA area or be willing to commute to the school daily as classes are in person Have to pass a background check Have to pass TB test Be enthusiastic and enjoy teaching children Have excellent communication and written skills Have the ability to engage and teach students Bachelors Degree or currently in college obtaining degree Be authorized to work in the USA Our Story: Crete Academy was founded by a group of individuals passionate about creating opportunities for children living in poverty.
