Job Summary
The School Nurse is responsible to the District’s Superintendent and works under the general supervision of the site administrators conducting the school health program in assigned schools. * Work is performed in an office at multiple districts in Nevada County and involves continuous contact with staff and representatives of other agencies. * Driving an automobile to conduct work (mileage is reimbursed only between individual school sites on the days assigned to that district).
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation and have knowledge and experience in advanced first aid principles. One year experience in school or community health preferred. Certificates & Licenses: Must possess a valid California driver’s license Must be a Licensed California Registered Nurse Current or actively working on becoming a California Registered Nurse license Must possess a California credential with an authorization as school or actively working towards a California credential with an authorization as school nurse. Must possess a Public Health Nurse Certificate or actively working towards a valid Public Health Nurse certificate. Must possess a Nursing credential or actively working toward a Nursing Credential Must possess a valid Audiometric certificate or actively working on a valid Audiometric certificate Must possess a valid CPR adult and child certificate. Instructor certificate desired.
