ALUM ROCK UNION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT
CLASS TITLE: CAMPUS PARAEDUCATOR
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the assigned management and/or supervisory position, oversee the activities of children at play during meal times; assure compliance with school rules and take appropriate action according to established procedures.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Oversee the activities of children at play during meal times; organize and assist children with games and activities on the playground. E
Assure compliance with school rules and take appropriate action according to established procedures; maintain order as children pass from cafeteria and playground to class; report problems to Principal. E
Conduct noon supervision on rainy day schedule in the classroom; assist children with indoor activities, games and projects. E
Make suggestions for improvement of the safety and welfare of the children during the noon period. E
Administer minor first aid according to established procedures; prepare related reports as required. E
Encourage and promote courtesy among children.
Perform related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE OF:

Basic First Aid techniques.
ABILITY TO:
Deal with students and staff members in a tactful and pleasant manner.
Direct children in playground activities and promote participation, good sportsmanship and fair play.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from high school and some experience in the care and supervision of young children, or equivalent.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a current First Aid Certificate.
