Job Summary

The Attendance Assistant maintains manual and computerized pupil attendance records, assists school staff with pupil attendance problems, and contacts parents, pupils, and district staff. 10 months per year, 10 hours per week. Ericson Elementary School is nestled in an ethnically and culturally diverse area of Mira Mesa. The mission of Ericson Elementary is to offer a balanced educational program to meet the academic, physical, and emotional needs of each student through high quality education. Our program involves children, parents, staff, and community working together to provide the students the skills necessary for assuming a responsible position in a global society. Clerical staff plays a critical role in our environment. The Attendance Assistant communicates directly with the home, coordinates with staff on attendance concerns, coordinates our attendance recovery efforts, and helps supports a welcoming front office.

Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to one (1) year of recent, full-time, paid office-clerical experience. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Fluency in conversational Spanish or another foreign language is desired but not a requirement.
