Job Summary

ABOUT US: Located in the heart of the Bay Area, Hayward Twin Oaks Montessori School is a 1-12th grade school with 600 students in two separate campuses. HTOMS joined together Silver Oak High School and Golden Oak Montessori School, to bring tuition free Montessori education to our diverse community. The first accredited Montessori public high school in the nation, we are guided by our vision to create a "community" learning environment where students thrive. We celebrate the differences in our students as we watch them grow and achieve their fullest potential. Here at Hayward Twin Oaks we are incredibly fortunate to have such exceptional students and families who believe in and support our mission and values. Montessori philosophy is based on the principle that all children carry within themselves the person they can become. In order to maximize their physical and intellectual potential, students must develop a meaningful degree of independence and self-discipline in an ordered environment. Dr. Montessori developed the “scientifically prepared environment” which encourages children to learn according to their own capacity and learning styles and allows children at various stages of learning to flourish in the same classroom. “Research has shown that the best predictor of future success is a positive sense of self-esteem. Montessori programs, based on self-directed, non-competitive activities, help children develop the confidence to face change with optimism.
