The Personnel Commission announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment. This recruitment will result in the establishment of one integrated eligibility list. Promotional candidates will have seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until cancelled. In anticipation for the 2023-24 school year, there is currently ONE position open at Surfside High School. This is an 8 hour/day, 10 month position.
Requirements / Qualifications
Training and Experience: Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by courses in the behavioral sciences, guidance, career counseling, or related field and three years of progressively responsible clerical experience which has included heavy personal contact. Knowledge of Policies and objectives of assigned programs and activities. Basic interviewing and advisement techniques. Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition. Standard office procedures and machines. Record-keeping and filing techniques. Career requirements. District curricular offerings. Principles of public relations and human development. Oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Ability to Serve as a technical resource to students concerning college and career opportunities. Orient students and others in the use and content of the resource center, equipment, technical programs, and materials. Maintain and update college, university, and career resource materials. Read, understand, and utilize technical, procedural, and instructional materials. Receive and evaluate problems and skillfully handle them with tact, judgment, and effectiveness. Interpret, apply, and explain laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Maintain records and prepare reports. Perform clerical work independently. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Maintain cooperative working relationships with others. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Meet schedules and timelines. Work independently with little direction. Communicate with diverse groups and individuals.
