SOUTHWESTERN ACADEMY Director of Campus Operations General Description The Director of Campus Operations holds an important position in the administration of Southwestern Academy being responsible for facility management and operation. The Director of Operations reports to the Head of School and meets as needed with the senior administrative team thus helping in the overall guidance of the Academy’s program.

Responsibilities Facility Management Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the San Marino facility. Responsible for the supervision of the maintenance crew and the custodial personnel. Maintain inventory of facility keys. Order custodial supplies as needed. Responsible for the supervision of the kitchen crew. Working with the kitchen crew, develop and monitor the school menu. Coordinate campus work with outside vendors as needed. Working with the Head of School, hire new personnel for the Operations Department as needed. Track Operations expenses to maintain spending within budgetary constraints. Other duties as assigned. Planning and Development Develop plans for renovation and construction of buildings on the San Marino campus. Coordinate construction, when approved by the Head of School, with Southwestern personnel and outside vendors. Emergency Planning Coordinate with the Head of School and other senior administrators plans for operating all aspects of the school environment during emergencies such as the crisis brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. Willingness to work outside of normal work hours in situations requiring presence for emergencies or meetings. Interface with Athletic Department Work with the Athletic Department to prepare the gym and fields for athletic play. Maintain inventory of athletic clothing such as t-shirts and sweat clothes for sale as determined by the Head of School. Maintain inventory of clothing for sale as determined by the Head of School. Interface with Beaver Creek Personnel As directed by the Head of School, maintain contact with the Beaver Creek personnel as to the needs and problems in their campus operation.

Strong interest in working with diverse populations. • Ability and willingness to meet the physical requirements necessary to perform the required duties, including ability to lift and move heavy objects and climbing ladders. • Ability to work independently, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive feedback. • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. • Sufficient verbal and written communication skills to perform the tasks required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required. Ability to prepare and make presentations to students, faculty and staff as needed and as requested.
