Position Overview In this role, the Managing Director, DEIJB will champion innovative and inclusive approaches to continue building a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and belonging (DEIJB) that aligns with PLN’s values and mission to educate and support children and youth, and families to thrive. Serving as a member of the PLN Senior Leadership Team, this person will lead efforts to ensure DEIJB tenets are integrated and embedded in all strategy, processes, and systems at PLN. This role will report to the CEO and will work closely with the communications, human resources, and executive teams as well. Integrating DEIJB Throughout the Organization - Refine and strengthen DEIJB roadmap to further develop and implement a multi-year DEIJB strategy as a key lever for organizational success - Establish annual DEIJB workplan and goals for the inclusion of and advancement of PLN’s DEIJB agenda throughout the organization - Create accountability measures, with metrics, to ensure these goals are met; this includes benchmarking, analyzing data, tracking, and communicating metrics to all staff - Ensure a focus of DEIJB into all phases of the PLN Employee Experience: Talent acquisition, onboarding, learning and development, performance, and compensation management, and offboarding, including, but not limited to: - Design and implement intentional development and retention programs for all employees, with a targeted focus on staff from marginalized groups - Identify strategies to achieve PLN Program goals - Manage and respond to requests for support from staff on DEIJB matters; advise HR Business Partners on DEIJB related issues and concerns - Conduct organization wide DEIJB audits and surveys to further review processes, and make recommended enhancements; identify the unique DEIJB needs and improvements in PLN programs - Promote and support the management of PLN Employee Resource Groups, and serve as an ally and resource in coordinating these amo

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: - Bachelor's Degree or 5 years’ experience leading and advising Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging activities. - Management and/or project management experience, including projects requiring cross-functional team alignment - Bilingual (English/Spanish) required - DEIJB certifications a plus - Expertise of DEIJB-specific needs in the CA and US, including state and federal labor laws - Experience developing, creating, and delivering organizational DEIJB on-line and in-person trainings and training plans, covering a range of complex and challenging topics - Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written), including editing and writing; experience presenting to large groups as a subject matter expert and be able to facilitate in-person and virtual group discussions - The ability to balance diplomacy with pushing the envelope and speaking out, ensuring necessary topics are brought to the attention of executive leadership - Software Operated: - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, One Drive, etc.)

Other Requirements - Demonstrated track record of managing inclusion programs with proven results. - Experience with DEIJB program development, execution, and performance monitoring with a clear understanding of how inclusion functions as part of DEIJB best practices - Demonstrated analytical and data-driven approach to DEI programs and initiatives. - Experience managing and collaborating on multiple projects simultaneously and/or projects involving cross-functional/team alignment - Strong organizational skills and passion for getting the details right - Creative thinking and ability to execute and measure the effectiveness of new ideas - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to develop strong professional relationships with peers, managers, and cross-functional teams - Ability to use good judgment to problem solve, make decisions, and involve necessary individuals at the appropriate time - Ability to thrive in an environment of ambiguity and change - Ability to influence without authority, think proactively, and function independently - Successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug test and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States. - TB clearance annually - Must have Covid-19 vaccinations and boosters as required by PLN policies
