Job Summary

The Montgomery Middle School has one full-time (1.0 FTE), 10-month vacancy. This position will support in Restorative Justice/ELST. Will serve as a Student Champion for students who have been suspended. Help resolve conflict between students and staff as well as peer to peer. Create Daily Check-In/Check Out System for Designated Students. Attend home visits with teachers and staff, throughout, as requested. Support students with self-regulation and calm down strategies. Log services in PowerSchool Train and support Students to serve as Restorative Circle Youth Leaders. Organize Restorative Circles during Advisory. Work with District Restorative Justice Counselor. Participate in Positive Behavior Assemblies Create purposeful placement of (ELD groups for 6-8 students). Assess incoming students for purposeful placement. Monitor reclassified student portfolios. Consult with admin, teachers, SPED team to discuss specific students. Assisting with coordination of ordering instructional materials (ELD, literacy, parent resources). Receiving and distributing instructional materials to teachers. Assist teachers with filling out learning contracts for students when necessary.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have: (1) A valid California Multiple Subject and/or Single Subject ELA, HSS, Science, or Math, (2) Experience with middle school age learners, English Language Learners, and students with diverse learning needs. Credential must be registered with the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing by the closing date of the application deadline. Applicants must have a valid California driver's license and be prepared to conduct, participate in, and travel to sites, professional development sessions, workshops, and meetings.
