About Beacon School: Beacon School is a renowned special education organization with a therapeutic focus. We cater to students in grades 6 through 12 at our campus in beautiful San Jose. We also provide contracted mental health and behavior support services at several public schools in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. As a Behavior Coach, you will: Be a key member of our support team, working closely with classroom teachers and mental health therapists. Provide academic and behavioral support to students with various disabling conditions, including emotional disturbance, learning disabilities, autism, or other health impairment. Collect behavioral data and collaborate with colleagues to create effective Behavioral Intervention Plans. Professionally communicate with parents and staff to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment. Gain experience in using positive behavioral instruction and support, advanced behavior analysis techniques, trauma informed practices and much more. What We're Looking For: We are seeking qualified candidates who have at least an associate degree or two+ years of post-high school study, preferably in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. As a Behavior Coach, you must also pass the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST) and obtain a substitute teaching permit within one academic year of employment.
