Job Summary

Job Summary

The job of Student/Parent Advocate Program Specialist is done for the purpose/s of supporting the educational process by serving as a resource for students and parent involvement to promote student academic achievement; focusing on student social and emotional issues; working under direct supervision of a Guidance Learning Specialist or Assistant Principal/Vice Principal to accomplish various tasks such as attendance, grades, and behavior; and conducting a variety of parent education training modules.

Requirements / Qualifications

SELECTION PROCESS: All applications will be screened and evaluated to ensure application is complete, certifications are attached, and applicant meets minimum qualifications. The process will include a training/experience evaluation and oral exam for all qualified applicants. Those candidates achieving a passing score of 70% or higher will be placed on an eligibility list and the top three ranks of candidates will receive a departmental interview. Additional interviews will be conducted in rank order until all open positions are filled as vacancies occur. All examinations are based on the job description for the position. Job descriptions are available on the District website, Personnel Commission Office, or Human Resources. The oral exam is scheduled for July 20, 2023. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in job-related area. One year of experience working with students has been found to be a minimum requirement for successful job performance. Relevant experience, education, certificates and/or licenses may be substituted. **COPY OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT and/or VOCATIONAL DEGREE MUST BE ATTACHED**
