About the Employer

The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. In addition to providing direct instruction to students through its own alternative and special education programs, OCDE administers an array of programs and services that are critical to the operations of local school districts and community colleges, facilitating professional development, legal guidance, payroll, career and technical education support, high-speed internet access, Local Control and Accountability Plan assistance and approval, resources for families, and student enrichment. OCDE's Educational Services Division is dedicated to supporting professional learning for Orange County school districts. Through our collective capacity, Educational Services provides high quality and sustainable professional learning that enhances the professional capital of the community we serve. We provide multi-tiered systems of support to the Orange County community that focus on academic, behavioral, and social success for all learners. OCDE is currently recruiting for a dynamic Coordinator, Educational Services - Multilingual Academic Services (MAS) that will be responsible to provide technical support, customized support, networking and professional learning opportunities for our local districts with a specialization in Multilingual Learners, integrated and designated ELD, World Languages, Dual Immersion, EL typology supports, ELPAC supports, English Learner/ Dual Immersion master planning, ELAC/DELAC supports and instructional supports. Will deliver effective and sustained professional development programs that include research-based recommendations for English Language Development instruction and support for Multilingual Learners (i.e. Project GLAD®).

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: * Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in education, education administration, or a related field. * Five years of increasingly responsible educational experience. Two years of administrative service in a public school setting. Licenses, Certificates, and Special Requirements: * Valid California Credential authorizing instruction or service in a public school program. * Valid California Administrative Services Credential * Bilingual Spanish is highly desirable. * Project GLAD® certified trainer is highly desirable.
