The Workforce Development Department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking a qualified individual for a current opportunity as an ERD Education Program Coordinator. This incumbent is responsible for developing and coordinating the scheduling and delivery of contract courses to employers and vendors and the delivery of a variety of not-for-credit and non-credit courses of interest to members of the general community. The incumbent supervises the work of a small support staff and interns. Work requires strong analytical and communications skills and program management capabilities and is carried out with significant independence within the framework of established policies and procedures. • Location: Pacific Coast Campus, but will support both campuses and external training/education sites
• Salary: Range 33 $5,090.39 - $6,272.61
Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE
Under direction, performs a variety of complex and highly responsible duties in coordinating the District's contract and community education program offered through the Center for Training and Professional Development; plans, designs, develops and implements courses and recruits instructors; develops materials and markets courses in the community; supervises the work of a small support staff; and performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in education, business administration or closely related field; and at least two years of progressively responsible experience performing program administration duties, preferably in an educational setting; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.

Unofficial transcripts are accepted during this phase. For experience substitution in lieu of education, please make sure to attach a statement clearly outlining how your additional experience covers the education requirement, on a year-for-year basis, and qualifies you to be considered for this position.
• If you participate in and fail any examination segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (~3 months) to test again for the same classification.

The following examination segments are pass/fail and may be utilized during the selection process:

An Online Written Test or Oral Panel Interview may be used to assess applicant qualifications. Test parts are determined by the size and competitiveness of the candidate pool.
The qualified candidates will be placed on an unranked list. Seniority points for internal existing LBCC employees and points for Veteran's credit will not be added. The unranked list will be submitted to the hiring authority for consideration.
