California Private Teachers is seeking a full-time private teacher for a family living in the East Bay area. The family has two daughters who will be entering 3rd & 7th grade in the fall. The daughters will be enrolled in a private school in Florida, The King's Academy, that provides Some Hybrid curriculum. The private teacher will need to develop and modify this curriculum while supplementing and providing enrichment opportunities for a more dynamic learning experience. Experiential and whole-child education are important considerations for this position. The family is easy-going and enjoys an active lifestyle and traveling. Knowledge of asynchronous and synchronous learning will be important during times of travel. The parents are excited about a more personalized and engaging learning experience for their daughters that is focused on individual growth and real-world learning (Especially Project-Based and Experiential-Based learning).
Requirements / Qualifications
The private teacher will be responsible for developing the curriculum, lesson planning, providing enrichment opportunities, and interventions when applicable. The private teacher must possess the necessary knowledge and pedagogy to teach these grade levels effectively while also creating a learning experience that is tailored to each child’s unique learning style and academic needs. While working in collaboration with the parents and California Private Teachers, the private teacher must be able to foster an individualized, enlivening, and holistic educational experience. Credential Requirements A valid teaching credential is required. Please indicate the expected issuance date of your credential if it has not yet been posted with the credentialing commission. Applicants who hold an out-of-state teaching credential/certificate will be considered for this position. · Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience · Applicants must currently reside or be willing to relocate/commute to the East Bay area to provide in-person instruction Monday-Friday for 4-6 instructional hours daily · Applicants must have knowledge and experience working with elementary and middle school students · Applicants with a foreign language background are desired but not required Required Documents · Resume · Credential Copy · Copy of Transcript with Degree Conferred · Letter of Introduction · Letter(s) of Recommendation · List of Three (3) Professional References
