THE POSITION: The job of Senior Credentials Specialist is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the delivery of human resource services with specific responsibility for advising districts on appropriate credentials for certificated assignments; assisting teachers in credentialing; and monitoring teacher assignments in districts. This job reports to the Assigned Administrator. LOCATION: 313 W. Winton Ave. Hayward, CA 94544 TYPICAL DUTIES: Advises and counsels a variety of internal and external individuals (e.g. districts, teachers, applicants, new personnel, substitute teachers, charter and private school educators, etc.) for the purpose of providing accurate information concerning state certification processes, policies, procedures and related legal requirements. Analyzes transcripts and foreign transcript evaluations for the purpose of determining eligibility for California certifications. Assists in evaluating employment transcripts, education units, credentials, etc. for the purpose of assessing certificated applicant’s eligibility and placement. Coordinates a variety of processes (e.g. certification eligibility, expiration dates of credentials, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring efficient processing of employees in addressing position requirement and adhering to legal and/or administrative requirements. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Three (3) years increasingly responsible credential experience in a school district or county office of education. Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent. Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience.
