Job Summary

181 Work Days in a full school year, 8 hours per day. Monday-Friday. Exact work schedules to be determined dependent upon the schools need. Additional paid non-duty days and holidays are added to base annual salary.

Requirements / Qualifications

Must meet NCLB/ESSA requirements for paraprofessionals working in Title I Schools to include: • Graduation from High School or equivalent, and two years of college (48) units, OR • A.A. degree (or higher), OR • Pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction • Minimum three years working in a school environment required. • Any combination of education, training, and/or experience working in educational or academic program setting • Valid Drivers’ license and dependable vehicle required o Travel to Norton Science and Language Academy school site in San Bernardino once per week required • A certificate showing that within the last 60 days the person has submitted to a tuberculosis risk assessment and if tuberculosis risk factors were identified, has been examined by a physician, nurse practitioner, or local health department and has been found to be free of infectious tuberculosis • Candidates selected for employment are required to be fingerprinted and cleared by the CA Department of Justice through the Lewis Center (LCER) and must provide the LCER with a certificate stating freedom from tuberculosis before beginning work
