JOB SUMMARY

Food Service II will, under general supervision of the Site Administrator and Food Service Manager will perform all of the kitchen tasks necessary to prepare healthful and nutritious food for students.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and Application of:
District policies and procedures as they apply; Principles and methods of preparing nourishing and appetizing meals for large groups of children; Proper sanitary methods of preparing, cooking, serving and storing foods; Operation of equipment used in a modern food preparation environment; Oral and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; Proper methods of preparing, coding, serving and storing foods.

Ability to:

  • Communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION:
May include, but are not limited to:
1.Prepare or assist with the district’s Class A Meal Program.
2.Interpret and apply rules and regulations as appropriate.
3.Assist in the instruction of student workers in food service.
4.Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly food service area.
5.Assist in inventory, stocking and ordering of food service supplies, and equipment.
6.Assist in packaging and delivery of meals; assist in the service of meals to students and staff.
7.Operate a variety of food-related equipment and machines.
8.Perform related duties as assigned.

Experience / Education:
High School diploma or GED required.
One (1) year of preparing and serving food in large quantities, preferably in a school setting desirable.

Conditions of Employment:
Valid California Drivers license
Possession of a valid First Aid certificate (12 month position only); CPR considered an enhancement.

Salary Range: G– Classified Salary Schedule

High School diploma or GED required. One (1) year of preparing and serving food in large quantities, preferably in a school setting desirable.
