Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources, the Director Human Resources is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective development and implementation of processes related to all human resource functions including recruitment, selection, retention, and separation of employees; monitoring evaluations of all employees; appropriate assignments of all personnel; personnel records; screening of applications; coordinating and implementing interviews; all employee/employer relations; employee orientations; training of all administrative staff regarding HR processes and procedures; employee discipline, including guidance and support of all VCOE supervisors in discipline and/or improvement plans; Workers’ Compensation; risk management; and medical leaves and leaves of absences.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree in education, business, public administration, or related field, and seven years responsible administrative experience related to human resources and educational leadership; Master's degree in education, administration, or related field; Demonstrated competence and technical skills preferably in an educational setting. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Driver’s License; Valid California Administrative Credential, preferred; Ability to speak, read, and write in English AND Spanish is highly desirable.
