Position will be for Beaumont High School.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
• Implementing at least two district-wide theater production involving kindergarten through 12th grade students and three other theater-oriented performance projects.
• Teaching advanced acting classes and theatre arts classes.
• Directing district musicals and directing high school productions.
• Promoting the performing arts program throughout the school district.
• Teach drama classes to high school students, covering topics such as acting techniques, script analysis, and theatre history.
• Budgeting: The Lead Theater Teacher is responsible for creating and managing the budget for the production. This includes determining production costs, and making sure that expenses stay within the budget.
• Coordination: The Lead Theater Teacher is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the production, including scheduling rehearsals, and arranging for costume fittings.
• Promotion: The Lead Theater Teacher may be responsible for promoting the show, including creating posters and other promotional materials and arranging for press coverage.
• Box Office: The Lead Theater Teacher may oversee ticket sales, box office management, and front-of-house operations.
• Fundraising: The producer may be responsible for organizing fundraising events to help cover production costs.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and other staff members to produce musicals and plays.
• Provide feedback and support to students during rehearsals and performances, helping them to develop their acting skills and stage presence.
• Organize and supervise drama club activities, such as workshops, field trips, and fundraising events.
• Promote the performing arts program by attending school events, meeting with community members, and working with local media outlets to publicize upcoming productions.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance evaluations, and communicate regularly with parents and school administrators.
• Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in drama education, and attend professional development opportunities as needed.
A Maximum of fifteen (15) years of teaching experience and/or proven industry experience will be accepted. Salary placement with fifteen (15) or more years is step 16.
