Requirements / Qualifications

BACKGROUND: The Chief Business Officer of the district sits on the Superintendent’s cabinet. The CBO is responsible for not only all financial departments of the district, but also the Maintenance and Operations, Transportation, Facilities, Technology, and Food Service departments. The position is also part of the District’s management team for all collective bargaining groups and attends all Board of Education meetings. The district General Fund budget is approximately $42,000,000, and will end the 20-21 fiscal year with a projected 9.82% unrestricted reserve. ABOUT THE DISTRICT: The Galt Joint Union Elementary School District (GJUESD) serves approximately 3,500 students in prekindergarten through eighth grade. The elementary district operates one school readiness center, five elementary schools, and one middle school and was recognized as a 2018 California Exemplary District for Sacramento County. GJUESD reflects a collaborative culture that Grows and Learns Together to strategically implement initiatives. The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) integrates personalized learning practices, technology tools, supports and opportunities. 62% of learners come from socioeconomically disadvantaged homes (percentages ranging from 45%–88% at our 6 schools). English language learners comprise 21% of the district’s population (ranging from 10%–50% at our schools). 13% of our learners receive special education services. The district has exceptional learning partners including San Joaquin Delta College, California State University Sacramento, Stanford University, Cosumnes River Nature Preserve, WestEd, NASA and the Central Valley Foundation. Recently, GJUESD was selected as one of eight northern California school systems to advance student-centered learning in partnership with the Stanford d-school and Genentech.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Three to five (3-5) years of responsible management/supervisory experience in a position such as business manager, controller, or accounting supervisor; · At least two (2) of those years in business functions related to education is desirable; · Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration; · A Master's degree in education, public administration, or business administration is desirable; · School business related certifications and/or training preferred. • Complete the EDJOIN On-Line Application (filled out with CURRENT information) • Attach a Letter of Interest specific to this position • Attach a Professional Resume • Attach Three Letters of Recommendation Please attach any other documentation that you feel will help enhance your qualifications.
