Counselor position which functions within the holistic counseling philosophy PRIMARY DUTIES: 1.Provides guidance services including responsibility for counseling, discipline and attendance for assigned counselees 2.Oversees attendance, cumulative progress, activity and uniform transcript records for assigned students 3.Supervises the preparation and processing of college scholarship and recommendations and employment applications 4.Assists students in evaluating their aptitudes and abilities through the interpretation of individual standardized test scores and other pertinent data, and works with students in developing educational and occupational plans 5.Receives discipline referrals and follows through with appropriate action 6.Communicates with parents whenever necessary 7.Provides student/parent guidance and planning services as specified by AB 813 (freshmen conferences) 8.Monitors academic progress of counselees, conferences when necessary and makes appropriate recommendations to both parents and students 9.Participates in snack and lunch supervision on a daily basis 10.Participates in supervision of school activities during the school year 11.Participates in Management Team activities 12.Performs other duties as assigned
