Responsibilities of the Math Coach
• Collaborate with and provide support for teachers and administrators at the site (e.g., model lessons and teaching strategies, facilitate Structured Teacher Planning Time and the development of classroom action plans, distribute quarterly assessments and results, etc.)
• Assist in the implementation of the K-8 Mathematics Curriculum Guides as well as staff development activities pertaining to the District’s Mathematics program
• Assist teachers in obtaining any necessary materials, manipulatives and/or supplies as needed to teach effective math lessons
• Attend monthly Districtwide Math Coaches’ meetings
• Attend at least 4 of 5 K-8 Mathematics Lead Teacher meetings
• Attend at least 3 of 4 staff development sessions offered for all K-8 teachers on a quarterly basis
• Attend the initial Thinking Maps training and follow-up sessions, as appropriate
