Job Summary

The San Luis Obispo County Office of Education seeks an accomplished Program Coordinator to support the Child Care Planning Council’s Quality Counts initiative. The Program Coordinator must promote excellence and equity in education to achieve social justice and provide a range of recruitment, retention, training for licensure, and professional development experiences. This position will coordinate implementation of the Local Quality Counts Plan including, but not limited to initiative administration, data management and outreach/communications with internal and external stakeholders. The Coordinator will provide professional development and technical assistance to support Local Education Agencies (LEA's), aspiring early care and education candidates, and early care and education professionals throughout the county. This position will coordinate contracts for direct services including coaches, trainers and others as assigned. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with local, regional, and state stakeholders, including: facilitating services, professional development training, technical assistance, coaching, and communities of practice (CoP) that support equity in early care and education. This position is critical in facilitating sustainable research-based practices that address a wide variety of needs for early care and education professionals and agencies.

Requirements / Qualifications

Required: -Bachelor’s degree in education or related field. -Four or more years of work experience in early childhood development, education or social services field. -Knowledge and experience with Quality Counts. -Strong administrative capabilities, including computer database management. -Experience in community collaboration. -Demonstrated grant writing abilities. -Training and marketing abilities; leadership skills, public speaking experience. -Problem-solving ability, specifically related to project implementation. -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Desired: -Experience with or understanding of the needs of English Language Learners and Special Needs students. -Exceptional ability to work effectively with people representing diverse cultures.
