Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Valid CA Teaching Credential. Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential w/Elementary and Secondary Basic Skills (ESBS) authorization, OR Multiple Subject Credential ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for teaching basic skills to students with varying academic levels while integrating GED skills, reading and math skills, social justice and community issues, and culture. Helps students meet necessary goals and qualify to successfully complete all sections of their GED. Prepares students to take the GED exam. Develop and present lesson plans. Prepare a course outline and syllabus stating the class goals, course content, classroom policies and procedures and methods of evaluation. Use a variety of instructional techniques and materials including online resources that are appropriate to the course and accommodate all learning styles. Maintain current and accurate records of student attendance. Participate in required, Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings.
