Job Summary
Under direction of the Director, Career Education and in coordination with the Student Programs and Services division, the Program Manager manages a post-secondary educational program at Alameda County Juvenile Facilities. The Program Manager works closely with county agencies and colleges to provide college and career education programming for youth and young adults in the juvenile justice system, especially those who have graduated from high school. Key responsibilities include identifying needs and opportunities, developing and managing partnerships, identifying and addressing barriers to student participation, and differentiating support for students and settings. Requirements / Qualifications
Education & Experience: Valid Clear California Teacher Credential required. Pupil Personnel Services Credential preferred Three (3) years working with at-risk youth, particularly in the context of juvenile justice and/or probation settings. Strong knowledge of college and career education pathways, including experience working with community colleges and CTE programs required. Familiarity with the unique challenges and needs of youth in the juvenile justice system. Excellent organizational and coordination skills to manage multiple stakeholders and programs simultaneously. Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with a diverse range of individuals and organizations. Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation of programs. Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies impacting youth in the juvenile justice system. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and community partners. Flexibility and adaptability to address unforeseen challenges and changing circumstances.
