<p><span style="font-weight:900">GENERAL INFORMATION:</span> Should hold or qualify for a California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential in Building and Construction Trades or Manufacturing and Product Development. Applicants need three years of work experience directly related to the industry sector to be listed on the credential. One year equals a minimum of 1000 clock hours and the experience may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid. Possess the ability to develop curriculum course outlines and behavioral objectives in the area of instruction. They also must have the ability to communicate effectively both written and orally. The teacher is specialized in delivering instruction to students who are designated ‘at risk’ and who require an alternative setting. The class covers basic jobsite skills to prepare students for the construction and welding environment that includes an introduction to hand tools, power tools, construction drawings, basic rigging, construction math, oxy-fuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, shielded metal arc electrodes and general construction and welding safety. They will also have the ability to use diverse teaching strategies to meet student's learning styles, abilities, interests, cultural backgrounds, apply classroom management principles that support proper classroom discipline and ensure that students remain on task. The chosen candidate will develop and maintain positive contacts with parents and employers, as well as provides timely and accurate reports of student's skills, job competencies and attendance.
