The Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP) seeks a full-time, on-site, Drama Teacher who wants to make a positive impact on the lives of young women by upholding and communicating the school mission, philosophy, and core values while modeling behavior that inspires academic excellence, an enthusiasm for learning, in a culture that fosters support for one another. The Teacher will help students learn and grow to become young women of heart, women of faith, and women of courage in the spirit of our sponsoring religious order, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. OLP is a diverse school community of 750 girls and on average 95 employees, that strives to educate young women of heart, faith, courage and excellence. As the oldest high school in San Diego and only remaining all girls’ Catholic high school, celebrating 140 years educating young women, OLP takes pride in honoring both its traditions of sisterhood, alongside a spirit of innovation. The school celebrates a diverse student body with close to 18% of its students calling Baja California home, commuting across the US - Mexico border each day. Upwards of 70% of the student body identify as women of color, coming from over 82 different zip codes across all of San Diego. As a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) school, OLP places a strong emphasis on 21st-century learning skills across the curriculum. The professional culture at OLP is committed to continuous improvement and lifelong learning. Educators applying should have experience with teaching high school drama courses and directing and managing theater productions, including musicals. Courses range from beginning to advanced drama courses as well as technical theater courses. The individual will also produce and direct at least 2 full-length productions per school year, including leading the acting, choreographing, set designing, lighting designing, stage managing, etc., while providing opportunities for students to perform their work during special school ev
