Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Associate Superintendent, Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA), the SELPA Director provides development, oversight and leadership of SELPA programs and classified personnel to provide assistance to the Local Educational Agencies (LEAs), families, and community agencies in the Ventura County SELPA in the implementation of laws, regulations, and policies at the state, federal, and SELPA level to support in the continuum of services and supports for students with disabilities through the development of comprehensive, equitable, and inclusive programming and services.

Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree major course work in special education OR related field and minimum five years educational experience required. Valid California Clear Special Education Teaching -OR- Pupil Personnel Services-School Psychology Services -OR- Speech Language Pathology Services, preferred. California Administrative Services Credential OR Certificate of Eligibility for the Administrative Services Credential, preferred. Prior experience in a special education leadership position. Experience planning and presenting staff development activities. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Requires a valid California driver’s license. Some positions in this classification may require the ability to speak, read, and write a designated second language.

  • Copy of Transcript ( Official Transcripts with conferral date will be required upon offer of employment if applicable )
