About the Employer
Homework Central is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit has been serving elementary school students in the San Mateo Foster City School District (SMFCSD) since 1998, with a mission to foster academic success through tutoring and family support. Working across four SMFCSD schools, HWC provides free after-school homework completion and tutoring, as well as literacy development to students who have been recommended by their teachers as needing additional support. Our students are generally behind academically and additionally face economic and other barriers.
Job Summary
Job Summary
The Summer Program will provide a 4-week (20 day) learning and enrichment experience to students in grades 3-5. This supportive and accountable in-person program aims to address literacy and mathematics needs of participating students, while introducing fun enrichment and STEAM activities. The successful candidate will have experience teaching Language arts and/or Math and/or STEM and will be responsible for delivering high quality lesson plans. At the direction of Summer Program leadership, provide instruction to enable students to make academic, and/or personal growth.
Requirements / Qualifications
While credentials are not required for these positions, at least 1-2 years classroom teaching at elementary school level is necessary. STEAM experience at elementary school helpful. Required Documents: Resume with Cover Letter Two (2) References
