Want to lead a hybrid school for 21st-century? We are TUTORWORKS Academy and we are looking for a Director who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are a new type of hybrid (virtual and in-person) school for elementary, middle and high school students and we deliver targeted math and literacy instruction with a 1:5 teacher student ratio. We are looking for a dynamic individual with experience leading a public school as a principal, vice principal, or department chair who is interested in being a pioneer in a new type of hybrid school. Applicants must be willing to travel weekly to multiple school sites across the south and north San Francisco Bay and work virtually on other days. TUTORWORKS uses a blended learning approach that combines the use of educational software and personalized instruction in live, virtual classrooms. The Director is responsible for supervising the operations of all TUTORWORKS’ academic services including systems that support the onboarding of parents, the quality execution of the program, the engagement and learning of students and the effectiveness of staff. The Director reports to our Chief Academic Officer and oversees the operations of TUTORWORKS programs online and at school sites. The Director is an experienced school administrator or teacher leader and has the following responsibilities: --> Supervises and supports TUTORWORKS managers and staff, remotely and in classrooms in San Jose, Richmond and Vallejo. --> Oversees staffing, master scheduling and remote instructor assignments. --> Oversees technology & materials ordering and receiving. --> Manages all communication with school sites and districts, and creates progress report

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Two years’ administrative experience or lead teaching in a public school in the K-12 system.
  • California Teaching Credential
  • Proficiency working online and navigating digital platforms including chat, text messaging and video conferencing.
  • Technology skills, including basic software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., and familiarity with and ability to use Chromebooks and Apple devices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to execute all job duties and expectations in a dynamic environment.

Please note: All employees must obtain fingerprint and tuberculosis clearance, and provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bilingual skills, written and spoken, Spanish is a plus.
