Santa Monica College invites applications for multiple permanent, full-time Campus Safety Officer vacancies. Under general supervision, Campus Safety Officers will assist sworn Police Officers with maintaining the safety and security of students, staff, visitors, and personal and District property on assigned campuses; and provide a uniformed patrol presence on District properties, including all building and grounds areas. The current vacancies are located at the Malibu Campus, at 23525 Civic Center Way, Malibu, CA 90265. These positions are scheduled to work full time at the Malibu Campus, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year.  Current vacancies are scheduled to work variable hours, and will receive a corresponding 5% pay differential in addition to the stated salary.

What You Will Bring to the College
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience as a security guard or active military personnel; impeccable observational skills and the ability to recall detailed information under pressure; effective oral and written communication skills; the ability to understand and interpret maps and directions; exercise sound decision making and safely perform the duties of the position; a strong customer service orientation and an interest in meeting the needs of stakeholders; and a high level of integrity and ethics.
