The Paxton/Patterson Career Lab provides middle school students opportunities to work in pairs on hands-on, real-world projects, as they explore careers in Health Science, Architecture and Construction, Criminology, Digital Audio Production and many others. Typical subjects like math and writing are woven into each module making it a fun part of the learning. Students are fully engaged in problem-based, real-world technology and are empowered to discover their interests and aptitudes. Teachers for the Paxton/Patterson Career Lab: - Are provided with professional development to learn how best to be the facilitator of the lab and are able to properly use the learning management system - Act as facilitator, guiding and mentoring their students; - Ensure students are actively engaged in the lesson and taking ownership of their own learning - Are able to support pairs of students on different tasks during the same period. - Are responsible for ensuring all equipment and materials are available for students, and will order replacement materials when needed To learn more about the Paxton-Patterson career lab, please visit: https://www.paxtonpatterson.com/college-career-ready-labs

In addition, Partnership teachers have access to professional development opportunities, coaching and training above and beyond what is traditionally available in district settings. For those seeking to take the next step in leadership without leaving the classroom, our network-wide teacher leader programs are unparalleled in their support of future leaders.
The Partnership is offering 100 hours of paid time ($5,000) for credentialed teachers coming to this school for the 2023-24 school year. LA Unified is also offering new applicants to the district who are credentialed a $5,000 hiring stipend paid over your first three years ($2,000 in the first year, $1,500 in the second year, and $1,500 in the third year) teaching at a high- or highest-need school in the district!
