Substitute Teacher Grades TK-12 (2023-2024) at Garden Grove Unified School District
Requirements / Qualifications
A Multiple Subjects Credential, Single Subject Credential, Education Specialist Credential or Substitute Teacher Permit is NOW REQUIRED BEFORE APPLYING, ALONG WITH YOUR OCDE FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE RECEIPT. You will also need to have the following: 1. Bachelor's Degree (Transcripts will need to be provided stating that you have a Bachelor's degree). 2. CBEST, CSET, CSU Early Assessment Program or CSU Placement Examinations, College Board AP exams, basic skills exam from another state or achieved a qualifying score on the SAT or ACT. 3. Resume 4. Classroom experience is preferred and technology skills are highly recommended. We are looking for substitutes in all grade levels and subjects; however, we have a high need in the following areas: 1. Special Education, both Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe 2. Music, both Instrumental and Vocal 3. Dual Immersion, both Spanish and Vietnamese
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Please fill out the application online and attach the required documents to your completed application: 1. Resume. 2. Copy of Multiple Subjects Credential, CTC Description of Single Subject Teaching Credential with Subject Listed, Education Specialist with M/M or M/S Listed or Substitute Teacher Permit. 3. Copy of your Bachelor's degree transcripts stating that you have a Bachelor's Degree (unofficial are okay). 4. Copy of proof of meeting the Basic Skills Requirement, such as passing the CBEST, CSET, CSU Early Assessment Program or CSU Placement Examinations, College Board AP exams, basic skills exam from another state or achieved a qualifying score on the SAT or ACT. 5. Copy of Fingerprint Clearance Receipt from OCDE Clearing House. (NOT THE CERTIFICATE OF CLEARANCE ON CTC WEBSITE). No other fingerprint clearance will be accepted. If you do not have clearance through them, you will need to contact them at 714-966-4306 to schedule an appointment. ONCE YOU HAVE THIS RECEIPT, YOU CAN APPLY TO BE A SUB.
