Daily and long-term Certificated substitutes needed TK-12 and in Special Education.
Requirements / Qualifications
Please Note: This posting will expire on 6/4/24. Look for NEXT YEARS posting on 6/5/24. CUSD is collecting applications, the 'first two weeks' of every month. Please read this posting carefully and in detail before applying. ALL requirements MUST be in place BEFORE applying, with attachments ready to upload, and *ALL 'sections' of the application must be completed. (*A detailed resume will NOT be accepted in lieu of a completed application, in particular the 'Work Experience' section.) 1. MUST hold a current California Teaching Credential OR a 30 Day Sub Permit with 'teaching experience'. (Direct all Credentialing questions to the San Diego County of Ed or the CTC directly.) 2. Resume (including 'teaching' experience & classroom management) 3. Two 'SIGNED' Letters of Recommendation pertaining to your 'teaching background' and 'classroom experience', (preferable within the last 12-24 months). Each LOR must include the person's contact information as well. (Do NOT submit 'unsigned' LOR's, as they will NOT be accepted.) 4. MUST have Fingerprints on file already through the San Diego County Office of Education's 'Fingerprint Clearinghouse' database. (For additional information visit SDCOE Livescan Appointment Page link: https://livescan.sdcoe.net.) 5. The first 3 requirements MUST be attached to your EdJoin application to be considered. Do not include 'any' additional attachments other than notated. >APPLICATIONS THAT ARE 'INCOMPLETE' OR 'MISSING ATTACHMENTS' WILL BE SCREENED OUT AND NOT CONSIDERED. >>Applications submitted at the end of the school year will be processed with time permitting. >>>Processing during peak periods (ie, beginning of a school year), slows down significantly while our focus shifts to opening schools first.
Additional Certifications to be collected at a later date: >Current TB Test must be available (valid for 4 years). We do not accept risk assessments. >JPA Trainings will be required for both Mandatory Reporter and Sexual Harassment through CUSD, or proof of course completions taken elsewhere. (If you currently have certifications available from another District those will be accepted.) >Substitute Teachers must complete at least 'one assignment every 90 days' in order to remain 'active'. If you do not complete a minimum of one assignment in a 90 day period, you will be removed from the substitute teacher pool.
