Sycamore Community School is seeking a part-time Spanish middle-school teacher for grades 5, 6, and 7 to join our private-school learning community located in downtown Santa Monica. Our school was established by a group of educators who came together around a common set of principles about what school should be for students and families. We enjoy small class sizes taught by highly skilled instructors. Sycamore is a responsive-classroom school that places equal emphasis on strong academics and social-emotional learning for all students. We are searching for a flexible instructor with an entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys and is passionate about working with students who are in middle school. The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree. They should be fluent in Spanish and should have cultural and historical knowledge of Spanish speaking countries. They will maintain a positive learning environment in their classroom and plan. They will collaborate and communicate effectively with students, parents, administration, and if applicable outside professionals, as well be dynamic and adaptable to a changing work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience creating and implementing Spanish curriculum.
