Education, Training, and Experience: 1. Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and 2. One (1) year of experience working with students in an organized classroom setting. Bachelor's degree or higher degree may substitute for up to six months of the required work experience. Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements: Some assignments may require the ability to speak and write in a designated second language. All candidates must meet the state Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirement for this position. This can be met one of three ways: Possession of an Associate's degree or higher. Completion of at least 48 full semester units at an accredited college or university. Taking and passing the ESSA exam administered by Montebello Unified School District. If the ESSA requirement is met through possession of the Associate's degree, higher degree, or completion of at least 48 full semester units, proof of education must be provided with the application process. A valid First Aid and CPR certificate issued by a provider whose course complies with the standards adopted by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, pursuant to California Civil Code 1714.2(a).
