Job Summary
Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Director of Special Education and Student Services provides administrative oversight and program supervision to Special Education, Section 504, Psychological Services, Guidance, Home & Hospital Instruction, Expulsion, and Welfare & Attendance. Responsible for the educational, curricular, and instructional programs at the preschool and serves as the instructional leader for staff assigned to the site, including supervision of all classroom instruction and the supervision and evaluation of certificated, classified and non- public agency staff. Manages all aspects of preschool operation, including student enrollment, attendance, discipline, fiscal, staffing, communication with parents, and collaboration/planning with the YMCA of the East Bay who operate the Head Start program on the preschool site.
Requirements / Qualifications
* A valid California Administrative Services Credential • A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Special Education or Administration or Related Field. • A minimum of three years of successful teaching experience, or the equivalent in a position in special education and successful experience as a program administrator • Ability to prepare complete and concise verbal and written reports • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. • Fingerprint and tuberculosis clearances as required by law For a complete job description, please visit the Emery Unified School District website at www.emeryusd.org
