Job Summary
DEFINITION Under general direction of the Administrator of Special Education and the specific direction of the site Principal, provides program supervision and instruction of preschool aged children. Provides meaningful learning and recreational activities for preschool aged children and communicates effectively with parents. Employs a range of instructional techniques and strategies to enhance student progress and establish a productive classroom environment. DISTINGUISHED CHARACTERISTICS This classified position provides services authorized by the Child Development Permit providing services in the care, development, and instruction of children in a preschool program. Any one position may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of the listed examples include all tasks that may be fund in positions within this classification.
Requirements / Qualifications
Licenses and other requirements: 1) Possession of at least one of the following valid permits issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing: * Child Development Teacher Permit * Child Development Master Teacher Permit * Child Development Site Supervisor Permit * Child Development Program Director Permit 2) Possession of a valid driver's license and evidence of insurability DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience working with students with special needs. * Basic understanding of the IEP process and documents.
