Job Summary
The Community School Coordinator is charged with continuously evolving and implementing Community School strategies. With support from the district and school administration, the Community School Coordinator leads, coordinates and oversees programs and activities on the school campus that support students and their families’ emotional, social and health needs. The Community School Coordinator also participates in city and county efforts to share and promote the value and benefits of Community Schools. Initiatives and programs to be orchestrated include, but are not limited to, family support, after school programs, health insurance enrollment, health education and access to health services, mental health services, family engagement,
Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS • Experience in management/administration in a non-profit and/or human services and collaborative setting. • Supervision and co-supervision of diversely skilled workforce. • A high degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practice with children and families. • Experience in collaborative meeting facilitation, problem solving and teambuilding. • Knowledge and appreciation of the challenges faced by educators. • Experience in school-based service delivery. • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. • Ability to use creativity in addressing needs and challenges • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Experience with data collection and evaluation of programs • Ability to negotiate and mediate to attain win-win situations. • Comfortable using computer as tool to communicate, research, monitor programs. • Bilingual in English and Spanish • Fund development experience. EDUCATION • Bachelor degree required. • Masters degree strongly preferred in Education, Public Administration, Social Work, Youth Development or related field
