Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor, lead grounds maintenance crew of assigned areas, including public access areas, lawns, gardens, play/athletic fields, and other assigned grounds. Perform a variety of grounds and landscape maintenance related work as directed and exercise independent judgment in the selection of work methods and procedures used in general grounds maintenance projects; perform pest control duties such as the application, inventory, safety and maintenance of compliance records of the Districts’ Integrated Pest Management Program.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of successful work experience performing a wide variety of school and recreational groundskeeping and gardening work involving some lead supervision. At least one (1) year of this experience should include the application of pesticides. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver’s License • Possession of a Qualified Applicator’s License or Certificate from the Department of Pesticide Regulation or procurement within 6 months from the date of hire • Incumbent will be involved in field work which requires travel in personal or District vehicles to various sites
