Job Summary
The Law Enforcement Occupations Instructor will work under general supervision to supervise and instruct students in career technical training and career development. The main responsibilities include establishing a safe and disciplined classroom environment, providing instruction in the assigned vocational area, and ensuring students are equipped with job-seeking and retention skills. The teacher will also evaluate student performance, maintain safety protocols, and assist students in career readiness. Additionally, record-keeping, curriculum development, and professional development are essential aspects of this role.

EXPERIENCE: • Three (3) years of work experience in the technical skills, trade, or vocations to be taught are required. • One (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years. EDUCATION: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Bachelor’s degree desirable. CREDENTIALS/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: • Possession of, or ability to obtain prior to employment, a valid California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching or Vocational Credential for the subject to be taught is required. • CTEL certification or EL equivalents such as CLAD, BCLAD, or SDAIE must be completed during the first year of employment in this position or be part of a University credentialing program of study • Valid California Driver's License is required. • Note: Please provide copies of credentials as required for the position or provide evidence of qualifying for required credentials with your application materials.
