Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Food Services, this position is responsible for assisting in planning, implementing, organizing, coordinating, and supervising District-wide food service programs and operations, including Central Kitchen, Warehouse, and Food Services Transportation operations. This includes but is not limited to, implementing, coordinating, and monitoring new operations and program changes; and acting as the Director of Food Services in the absence of the Director.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Education: Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency is required. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred, with an emphasis in nutrition, business, restaurant management, or a related field. Experience Required: A minimum of three (3) years, five (5) or more years preferred, of administrative or food service supervisory level experience in a multi-unit setting related to food service; large-scale food service management with an emphasis on a sustainable model that includes: legal mandates, Board of Education policies, hospitality management, administrative regulations, guidelines appropriate to the administrative of a comprehensive food service program; effective communication and public/human relations strategies, methods, and techniques; Human relationships, conflict resolution; menu planning, food procurement, staff training and supervision, and serving meals in a commercial or institutional environment, preferably to have experience with USDA Child Nutrition Standards and compliance. Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and/or Testing Required • Valid CA Driver’s License and evidence of insurability, Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance, and negative pre-employment drug screen test/negative TB results. • Must maintain a minimum of 10 hours of annual continuing education in accordance to the USDA’s Professional Standards. • Must Possess and maintain a valid Serve Safe Management Certificate
