Job Summary
Excel Academy is a 2023 California Distinguished School. The Personalized Secondary Teacher of Record in Art will be responsible for creating and overseeing a personalized learning plan for their class roster of 7-12 grade students. ToRs will partner with parents of independent study students in order to pace and assess students through grade-level content standards and assist in other school programs as assigned. This position requires involvement in building the overall school community to promote positive school culture and growth. The Personalized Secondary Teacher of Record must be a self-starter with exceptional organizational skills and have the ability to work independently to meet all deadlines. Single Subject CA Art Credential is required. This is a hybrid position.
Requirements / Qualifications
Employer Requirements: An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Current and Valid CA Single Subject Art Teaching Credential. A copy of the Teaching Credential is to be provided and kept current. Two (2) years of education experience. Charter School or Independent Study experience preferred. Bilingual skills are a plus. Hold and maintain a valid California Driver’s License; proof of automobile insurance; and full-time use of a dependable automobile that is insured pursuant to California regulations. State and federal background clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Education Code Section 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance. Proof of a clear TB test dated within the last 60 days (Education Code Section 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years. Copy of Transcript Credential Copy Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation (3 current letters of recommendation (at least 1 from an immediate supervisor)) Resume
