The job of Manager, Retirement Systems is done for the purpose/s of planning, organizing, coordinating and managing a variety of payroll deductions for the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS), California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), Social Security, Medicare, and other alternative retirement programs for school district employees in the County; ensuring compliance with established laws, codes, regulations, and legal requirements; and supervising and evaluating the performance of assigned personnel.</p> <p><b>This recruitment is promotional only and limited to current, permanent employees of the San Diego County Office of Education.</b></p> <p>This position is full-time and will offer the classified management benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalPERS state retirement system. </p>
Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or related field, and four years of professional-level payroll/retirement system experience with the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS), California Public Employee’s Retirement System (CalPERS), Social Security, and Medicare payroll deductions, including experience in a supervisory capacity. Certificates and Licenses: • At time of hire, a valid California driver's license, in order to travel to work sites across San Diego County.
To be considered for this position, you must individually attach the following items to your completed EDJOIN Application: • Resume, detailing education and experience • Letter of Introduction • Transcripts, verifying bachelor's degree or higher • Copies of any certifications you wish to be considered The results of this recruitment will be used to establish a promotional eligibility list to fill the current vacancy and any other vacancies in this classification for the next six (6) months, or until the list is exhausted.
