Summary While performing instructional duties in support of students, teachers, and parents, the Title I Instructional Assistant II works with students to reinforce reading and math skills to support Title I targeted assisted or schoolwide improvement programs to reach high academic standards. The Title I Instructional Assistant is assigned the responsibility of assisting Title I students to ensure attaining and maintaining academic success. Distinguishing Career Features The Instruction Assistant II is the second-level career path for instructional support to teachers. The Instruction Assistant I provides instructional assistance in classrooms. Advancement to Level II requires more advanced knowledge, skill, and ability to work with special student populations including but not limited to students who are economically disadvantaged, students with disabilities, English learners, migrant students, students with disabilities, and homeless and foster youth. Title I Instruction Assistants II are typically assigned to a range of environments assisting targeted students to help them meet challenging academic standards. The position requires a high school diploma and 48 units at an institution of higher education, or an associate’s degree or higher, or successful completion of a local LEA competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction. Hours: 5.5 hours per day (10 months) Salary: $15.50 - $19.25 per hour
