Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher position reports to the Principal and is accountable for providing instruction to students in various locations, serving no more than 30 consecutive days in a single General Education classroom, or 20 consecutive days in a Special Education classroom. Substitute Teachers are allowed to work an unlimited amount of instructional days in a school year, but must be assigned to a different class every 30 or 20 days. The Substitute Teacher will support students in educational areas such as math, reading, writing, computer skills, and other high school coursework or prep work for equivalency exams. We are looking for someone who insists on maintaining a positive attitude and enjoys supporting a diverse group of people. This job is for you if you are able to demonstrate sensitivity to various family and cultural patterns in planning and monitoring classroom activities. Requirements / Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience preferred - Hold an approved valid California Teaching Credential, 30-Day Substitute Permit or pass a Live Scan background check to be eligible for employment: - California Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit - Single Subject Credential - Multiple Subject Credential - Designated Subjects - CTE Credential to substitute in CTE-designated courses only

- Must wear provided PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements, when needed
- Satisfactory results of a Live Scan (criminal background investigation)
- Successfully obtaining jail clearance for positions working in county jails or probation locations
- Submitting proof of clear TB results. Results dated within 60 days prior to hire date are acceptable
